KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of protesting Wolesi Jirga candidates from 12 constituencies on Thursday called for creation of a special court to address election related cases, saying they did not let police remove their tent last night.


KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of losing Wolesi Jirga candidates on Wednesday closed the road to the Presidential Place in the Zambaq Square of Kabul.
Around 60 candidates from Helmand, Kandahar, Nangarhar, MaidanWardak, Paktika, Logar, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Samangan, Herat and the Kuchi constituency demanded a special court to address fraud in the polls.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday started ballot recounting at 183 polling stations of central capital Kabul based on the original tally sheets, a process previously carried out based on ballot boxes but cancelled two days back.

KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of protesting Wolesi Jirga candidates belonging to Kabul and Takhar province on Sunday demanded invalidation of votes cast in the two provinces and reelections.
Forty protesting Wolesi Jirga candidates told a joint a press conference here that the October elections to the lower house of parliament were fraudulent.

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) on Tuesday said it was investigating 187 cases of electoral crimes involving 386 suspects in 22 provinces of the country.


KABUL (Pajhwok): Five former and sitting members, including former secretary, of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), have been put on no-fly list, a statement said on Tuesday.


CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Some unsuccessful women candidates in the last year’s Wolesi Jirgaelections claim rigging and fraud prevented their victory in the polls.
The Wolesi Jirga elections were held on October 20-21 across the country apart from Ghazni and Kandahar provinces.
